1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PetChronicle ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

PetChronicle is a mobile application that allows you to log and track pet health records, including medications, vaccines, vet visits, weight, and daily observations. You can attach photos, set reminders, and export reports. All data is stored locally on your device.

3. Use of the App

You may use PetChronicle for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's code or systems

4. In-App Purchases

PetChronicle offers a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase to unlock premium features. By making this purchase:

• Payment is processed by Apple through the App Store
• The purchase is a one-time payment with no recurring charges or subscriptions
• The purchase is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed in with the same Apple ID
• Refund requests must be directed to Apple, as we do not process payments directly

Free features (one pet and one medication) are available without purchase. No account or sign-in is required to use free or premium features.

5. Medical Disclaimer

PetChronicle is a record-keeping tool and does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for your pet's health decisions. Do not use the app as a substitute for professional veterinary care.

6. Data and Privacy

All data you enter into PetChronicle is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, access, or transmit your data. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

PetChronicle and all associated content, features, and functionality are owned by Jonathan Hering and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The data you create within the App (pet records, photos, notes) remains your property.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

PetChronicle is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jonathan Hering shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or harm to animals.

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for backing up your device to prevent data loss.

10. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using PetChronicle at any time by deleting the App from your device. All locally stored data will be permanently removed upon deletion.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
